TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY 2011 10TH SEASON NEWSLETTER!
 |
Greetings Art Lovers,
First, I am pleased (and proud) to announce that I am now more active on the internet. At www.equidae.com you will find convenient push-button access to a Blog that will show some of my latest creations
on the easel or link you directly to my Facebook page! In the near future I will be creating a PayPal account to make it easier to buy online. Second, I would like to invite everyone, but especially those of you who live close by, to visit my Open Studio on Memorial Day Weekend. I will be opening my doors on (Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th from 10AM to 5PM) so that you can see some of the pieces I
am preparing my summer show. |

| The Tenth Year Celebration of the Terry Lindsey Equidae Gallery will begin July 22nd (set-up day) and continue through September 5th (9AM - 9PM daily). To commemorate our tenth season, many artists will
display original work in a 10 inch by 10 inch format. It will be a fun and interesting way to display a variety of styles and subjects! My personal theme is based on my Spring 2010 trip to England, which
will include both horsey and nonhorsey scenes. |

August 5th, Friday at 10AM, Kathi Peters will demonstrate painting in the earthy, matte-colored, milk based casein paint. This is an age old medium that was found in caves many hundreds of years ago. Her
colors, technique, and compositions have garnered awards and respect. Kathi's pieces appear abstract while also offering a great deal of realism. |

August 12th, Friday at 10AM, John Dobbyn, author and professor of law, will discuss his most recently published novel Frame Up, which involves the fascinating worlds of art theft and art forgery. The
novel deals with the conflict between the Russian mafia in Europe and the Italian mafia operating out of Boston. Jack will answer questions about this novel (which, as I write, is becoming a movie!) and
Black Diamond, a horse racing mystery due out in October 2011. I look forward to introducing you to Jack and his wife Lois. Signed books will also be available. |

August 19th, Friday at 10AM, Terry Lindsey will once again visit the McLaughlin's Stables to paint a race horse. I am so grateful to the McLaughlins for welcoming us to their stables so that everyone can
experience this equine treat! Visiting the stables, seeing the horses in their racing habitat, the aromas of liniment, hay, grain and equine is a wonder of its own. Each year I attempt to do a "stable -
air painting", finishing on the spot and, who knows, this may be the year to accomplish that goal. These paintings are sold yearly with proceeds being paid to the MS Foundation in honor of Kiaran. There
will be transportation from the hotel starting at 9:40AM. Shown is "Rock in Bage" from 2010. |
 |
August 26th, Friday at 10AM, Ely Fuller will discuss how to work with perspective and dimensions in creating solid sterling silver Spirit Animal Fetishes. Why are they small? Are they moving or still? Are
they twodimensional, three-dimensional, or something else? What materials works best? What space do they live in, inner or outer? These questions, and their answers, are part of an ancient and sacred
tradition that still moves us today. |

September 2nd, Friday at 10AM, Kathie Friedenberg will demonstrate the art of creating a bronze from the very early stages. She will go through the concept, development and implementation of her ideas.
This will be done with each displayed piece and some new ones. Kathie's creativity is drawn from her unique experiences as a veterinary surgeon, medical illustrator, author, and artist. |
I hope this season's show properly conveys my own sense of excitement for art and our beloved equine. Please remember you are always welcome to visit my studio in Dorset, Vermont. Enjoy the spring and I
will look forward to seeing you this summer. |
