click to enlarge	AUGUST 3RD at 10 AM KATIE UPTON is coming to town! She will discuss how she came to create her enchanting, large colorful horses that bring such delight to all that view. Her unforgettable style is sometimes labeled the 'Georgia O'Keefe' of horses. She will talk of technique, design, concepts and how her studio is situated in the middle of a paddock full of horses, gives her inspiration for positions and attitudes. It amazes me her simple equine expressions capture so well the personalities and thoughts of the horse.
click to enlarge	AUGUST 10TH at 10AM SARA JO RENZULLI finds painting with pastels an adventure and does a great job demonstrating her techniques. Sara has two young boys, yet as a multi talented artist manages to find the time to produce an impressive amount of paintings and pastels. She will start by preparing the background on Kitty Wallis Museum paper with Unison Pastels. It is most entertaining to watch the image appear from her work.
click to enlarge	AUGUST 17TH at 10AM LOUISE PETERSON also on her first visit to Saratoga, will present 'The Evolution of a Sculptor'. Using visuals she will share her passion for sculpture from beginning to present. She will be unveiling her FIRST horse sculpture. I have had a peek and it is super. Since the year 2000 she has earned ninety awards and four best in shows. She has become a professional member of the National Sculpture Society, the Society of Animal Artists of America, the Catherine Loriallard Wolfe, the National Sculptor’s Guild, and Allied Artists of America!!!! Plus her sculptures are in numerous public collections including Brookgreen Gardens, South Carolina and Benson Sculpture Garden. Now that is some accomplishment! Her Great Danes were among the first sales in my gallery six years ago!
	AUGUST 24th at 9:30AM AT THE HOTEL TERRY LINDSEY will do a demonstration of painting a horse’s head ‘en stable air’! Actually due to the enormous kindness of Sheila and Fred Mead and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin we will be visiting the Kiaran McLaughlin Stables to paint Classic Neal. She is a filly owned by Sheila and Fred and has her own list of wins to be proud of. I will attempt to help the viewers learn about some of the principles in creating a painting. The primary stages of the painting will be done hopefully in one hour. The painting will be completed in my gallery and may be viewed on this site. All interested attendees will gather at the Holiday Inn to co-ordinate vehicles at 9:30. And yes, we will bring the tea and scones with us somehow.
	AUGUST 31ST at 10AM JOHN RONAN, Pres. of American Storyboard and wife SANDY, will show excerpts from their newly created DVD production about ‘Women in Racing”! The DVD tells of the talents of women jockeys, grooms, outriders, owners, executives, etc. and their part in shaping the industry. This documentary will be an important resource on the history of women in racing. Anyone who cares about horses and racing will surely want to see this production. DVDs will be for sale after the talk.
